Hollywood’s Eric Schiffer to Bollywood?

Movie, Actors, Gossip, Hollywood, News, Bollywood August 25th, 2007

Hollywood’s A-list socialite, successful entrepreneur, movie-star and best-selling author Eric Schiffer, next to being productive in California, has shown interest in India’s Bollywood. Schiffer, who some compare with successful Global entrepreneurs such as Virgin’s Richard Branson, thinks about producing in India’s movie industry. Eric has directed several Film shorts and previously starred in Boys Club, Gentlemen’s Club and in the horror movie A Nightmare on Elm Street. In April 2008, the filming for his new movie Death Wish Returns will start in Scotland.

Eric Schiffer has written the best-selling business book “Emotionally Charged learning”, where he introduces a controversial management theory and explores how making good use of education and human emotions can create successful professionals and flourishing organizations.

A Schiffer-Bollywood combination could be very fruitful, considering Bollywood’s super star status and likewise opportunities and Schiffer’s Global ubiquitiy in his own right. More than Schiffer’s co-Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton, who every now and then lets us know that she would love to play in a Bollywood movie, putting together Schiffer’s and Bollywood’s combined star status will be synergetic!

Aishwarya rai refuses and Priyanka accepts Karan Johar’s film

Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai August 25th, 2007

Post marriage, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently working in ‘Jodha Akbar‘ with Hrithik Roshan. However, Aishwarya is very much aware of her responsibilities that come with being a Bachchan Bahu. That is why when Karan Johar approached Ash with a role in his film opposite Abhishek, the lady refused to accept the role, the reason being that the role is too hot for her to handle as a Bachchan Bahu.

“The story requires Aishwarya to act in a glamorous role. She is particular not to do such roles after her marriage. So, even if it is with her husband, she is definite on not doing such a glam role,” explained Aishwarya’s manager.

A puzzled director again went on the hunt for a heroine and finally settled on Priyanka Chopra who promptly said yes. Priyanka has already given a box-office hit ‘Bluff Master’ with Abhishek Bachchan. So the chemistry between the two actors is not to be doubted.

Despite ban on Hindi films, Pakistan woos Bollywood

Uncategorized August 25th, 2007

Even though official screenings of Hindi films are banned in Pakistan, Bollywood artistes continue to be in demand there.

Recently, well-known lyricist Gulzar was roped in to pen all the lyrics for a Pakistani love story “Tere Liye”.

This is perhaps the first occasion when a Bollywood poet has contributed to the entire score of a Pakistani film. Not only that, composer Anu Malik has been roped in to do the tunes for Gulzar’s lyrics in this venture.

All the recordings will be done in Mumbai, thereby dodging the great visa problem that arises every time Indian artistes desire to go across the border.

Talking about the unique project, Malik told IANS: “I got the offer to do the songs through Gulzar uncle. He’s the main reason why I’m doing the project. Our collaboration in ‘Aks’ and ‘Filhaal’ has been fantastic.

“As for the Pakistani presence, I’m happy that the gates are finally opening at the border. How does it matter whether the love story is Indian or Pakistani? Love is the same everywhere.”

Filmmakers like Shashi Ranjan and Mahesh Bhatt are all for Pakistani presence in Bollywood. Bhatt has repeatedly used Indian musicians and actors in his cinema and a part of his last production “Aawarapan” was shot in Rawalpindi.

Now Ranjan is preparing to shoot his comedy “Dhoom Dhadaka” in Islamabad.

Shashi said: “Not just that, my film has a Pakistani co-producer Syma Khar, who’s the sister-in-law of Tehmina Durrani, who wrote ‘My Feudal Lord’.

“We need to stop taking a myopic view of cultural relations between the two countries: ‘They did this to us, so we should do this to them.’ We should be looking at enhancing cultural ties between the two countries.”

Shahrukh, Deepika Padukone, Farah Khan on Koffee With Karan

Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar, Shahrukh Khan August 25th, 2007

Are you thinking that Karan has exhausted the list of guest and the rare combinations in Koffee with Karan?

kksrk.jpg

Well in that case I have good news for you. Karan has got some real combinations left for the show this season. The first dhamakedaar combination is Shah Rukh Khan- Deepika Padukone- Farah Khan on Sunday, August 26th at 9 p.m. on Star One and Star World. And needless to say the episode is a fun roller coaster ride.

Excerpts from the fun episode:

Karan: Welcome back to Koffee with Karan, How does it feel? It is your third appearance?

Farah: Fourth, if you are not counting when I was a judge in the last season.

Karan: Oh right, you judged the finale episode.

Farah: Ya. I have been here almost as much as you.

Karan: A big event that has transformed your life is your wedding. That happened two years ago?

Farah: Ya, two years.

Karan: I thought it would change you. Tell me, has it changed you?

Farah: ahhhhhh… has it?

Karan: I am asking you. Has it made you softer, calmer?

Farah: I don’t think it has made me calmer for sure. But yes, it has given me a perspective in life. And I do enjoy staying at home a lot more now.

Karan: Yes, you have someone to come home to.

Farah: Ya. I like being around the house, doing homely things… not just being on set so much. But I still enjoyed making my second movie a little more than I enjoyed making my first one… when I wasn’t married then.

Karan: So cool you look — new hair do, muscles, six pack I heard…

SRK: Four

Farah: Four have come, two to go!

SRK: I am still working on the last two.

Karan: What made you make this change?

SRK: My son feels I am fat.

Karan: He thinks you are fat?

SRK: He thinks I am fat. He beat up a girl because, first she called me an a******, then she said I look very ugly on KBC… sorry Star. He didn’t react, he controlled himself. Finally, when she said, your father is fat, he kicked her. So I got angry with him, and he said, ‘Papa, you know what? It is not her fault, it’s you. Why are you fat? Because she said, ugly, I didn’t mind. You looked handsome on KBC. You are not an a****** I know. You are a cool guy. But you are fat Papa.’

Karan: He thinks you are fat.

SRK: Just imagine. What he thinks about you and Farah, lets not get into that.

Farah: Thanks!

Karan: Are you nervous at all?

Deepika: I am very nervous.

Karan: Was it the same kind of nervousness when you were offered this film? You had to work with Shah Rukh, with Farah… were you completely like all nerves the first day?

Deepika: It was the same kind of nervousness; especially on the first day. Although Farah went all out to make me feel comfortable, she introduced me to Shah Rukh well in advance…

Karan: And everyone tells that he is a terrific co-star…

Deepika: He is fantastic to work with.

Karan: It feels special that you are a part of such a monstrous project? .

Deepika: Yes and we have almost come to the end of it.

SRK: I thought Karan was saying you are part of such a monster (pointing to Farah).

Deepika: No, she was wonderful.

So don’t miss it!
